Ten Heart-Exploding Fast Foods

We are all guilty of it. We love a big, juicy burger as much as anything else. Life seems to be in such a void when we can’t get our pizza at least once in two weeks. The fast food restaurants know it, we know it. Fast food brings such a comfort to our lives, and dieting is the last thing on our minds when it comes to eating out.

The other attraction of fast food is the price. For a couple of bucks, you can get a double whopper, a big heap of fries and a large milkshake. If you add a little more, you can supersize it. Who can get a better deal than that? It’s heart-warming and you feel a lot better.

Heart Exploding Fast FoodBut what is heart-warming might not be the best for your health. And despite claims of being all-fresh and nutritious, there are foods that are heart-exploding and makes your cholesterol go off the charts.

So be careful of your heart, and be careful when ordering these.

1. Starbuck’s Venti Egg Nog Latte

Whoa! Starbucks’ holiday editions are so rich, creamy and oh so yummy. However, a load of whole milk coupled with eggnog might be a little too much. With this order, you already consumed 620 calories and 29 grams of fat.

2. Subway’s Foot-Long Spicy Italian Sub

Eat fresh right? Think again. If you order a 12 inch Italian sub from Subway, you will get 960 calories, 2980 mg of sodium, 18g of saturated fat and 100mg of cholesterol. Just from the sodium content alone, you are already near the limit of 3,400 mg per day. And it’s only lunchtime.

3. Chop’t Cobb Salad Sandwich

Just when you thought that a salad sandwich is the healthiest thing to have for supper, this salad sandwich has more calories than a Big Mac. One serving of this heavy weight has 1,000 calories, 1990 mg of sodium and 49 grams of fat. Not to mention it is packed with 375 mg of cholesterol.

4. Quizno’s Large Turkey Bacon Guacamole Sub

Looking for something different to go with your turkey? This item doesn’t seem to be the best choice. This turkey bacon sub already is loaded with 1,300 calories and has 20g of saturated fat. Remember that we are only to consume 24g of saturated fat per day. Anything more than that is damaging to the body.

5. Chipotle’s Carnitas Burrito

On the outside, this food item seem to be healthy and fit. But if you add up all the calories that you will get from carnitas, white rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese, fajita vegetables, corn salsa, tomato salsa, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole, you will get 135g of cholesterol, 1365 calories and 3085 mg of sodium.

6. Panda Express 3-Entree Plate With Beijing Beef, Fried Rice, Sweetfire Chicken Breast, and Chow Mein

Chinese food is not exactly the best choice for lean food. It’s a misnomer that all Asian food is fat free. This item is one example. With a plate of this, you will consume 235g of cholesterol, 2150 calories, and 2850 mg of sodium. As you are enjoying the chow mein, you are slowly putting your heart on double time.

7. Taco Bell’s XXL Steak Nachos

With 1190 calories, this munching delight should be shared, not consumed by one person. To take the load on, this food item is packed with 95g of cholesterol and 2120 mg of sodium. It’s supersized to the third degree, and it sure looks appetizing, but best to share it with a friend.

8. Burger King’s Triple Whopper

It’s not called a whopper if it’s not a heavy-loaded burger. The triple whopper has 1190 calories (this is without the fries), 1050 mg of sodium and 75 g of fat. Perhaps you can get the double whopper instead, and ease up on the fat.

9. Cinnabon’s Caramel Pecanbon

Who would have thought that one simple desert can give you a heart attack? This sweet baby alone has 1080 calories, 50 g of fat, 20 g of saturated fat, and 960 mg of sodium. Imagine how heavy this snack would be if you took a coffee frap of 300 calories with it.

10. Taco Bell’s Cinnabon Delights

If you decide to indulge your sweet tooth, twelve of these will actually cost you 930 calories and 53g of fat. To burn this off your system, you would need about 2 hours on the treadmill. So to avoid unneeded hours of cardio, try one or two of these delights.

Yes, to eat is human. All of us get weak knees at the sight of one perfect Cinnabon, or a big serving of eggnog would be just so perfect. But in everything moderation is a must. And give your heart more love.
